Giving to the
PREGNANCY COUNSELING CENTERS
of the
SAGINAW VALLEY CHAPTER of
CHRISTIAN LIFE RESOURCES
through
United Way
WayDid you know that you may be
able to designate your
United Way contribution for our local
chapter of
Christian Life Resources** to support our
work at our two
Pregnancy Counseling Centers? While
there is no affiliation between
Christian Life Resources and
United Way, and our
Pregnancy Counseling Centers (PCC’s)
are not on the list of organizations which are supported by
United Way, individuals in most counties
can designate their contribution to be sent to the 501-(c)3 non-profit
organization of their choice, as long as they make that request that on their
United Way
form. If you are interested in doing
this, these are some things you should know:

The best way to financially
support the ministry of our
Pregnancy Counseling Centers is through
direct contributions. Since
United Way takes out 10%-15% of
your gift to cover their overhead costs, it is better stewardship to send your
contribution directly to the
PCC. This informational article is not
intended to promote
United Way.
It is more efficient to bypass
United Way
altogether.

Christians would not in good
conscience support some of the organizations that
United Way subsidizes.
·
Some people choose to give through
United Way because the amount is
automatically taken out of their paycheck, and is sent to the
PCC, so they don’t have to remember to
take the time each month to send it in themselves.
·
The local
PCC cannot verify receipt of
individual donations since all donations through
United Way are received together in one
check. The
PCC would like to send a Thank You to
all contributors but can only do so if you indicate on your
United Way form that you want an
acknowledgement. (If you send your contribution directly to the
PCC, a Thank You is sent and tax receipts
are available also.)

Giving to
United Way is completely voluntary, but
there is much pressure at some workplaces that all employees contribute to
United Way. People who feel compelled to
participate, can do so and still be comfortable knowing that their donation will
be used by our local Centers to proclaim what God’s Word says about the Sanctity
of Life.**
**The
Saginaw Valley Chapter of
Christian Life
Resources operates two
Pregnancy
Counseling Centers. One is in Saginaw and the other is in Flint. The
mission of the
PCC’s is to 1) offer counseling to help women make God-pleasing choices
regarding their pregnancy and lifestyle; and 2) sharing the Gospel of Jesus
Christ with clients and their families. Funding does not come from Synod or the
national Christian Life
Resources organization, but from individuals and WELS congregations.
Using
United Way Payroll Deductions to
Support the
Pregnancy
Counseling Centers:

through payroll deductions, and
if
you wish your donation to be sent to the
Pregnancy Counseling Centers, please
remember:

The full name of the
organization must be included along with the address.
In the blank for designating your contribution, write:
